PT. BIRO INSINYUR EXAKTA (BIE) was established by Prof. Dr. Ir. R. Roosseno in 1957, as a pioneer of National Engineering Consultant and able to survive up to present. Indonesia was facing a dilemma in the time of the establishment because the development in a large scale construction of the country were urgent needed but in the same time, they were very limited number of experts available. At a preliminary stage in fulfill the basic requirement of the society EXAKTA concentrated on the field of the construction industry activities. A considerable number of projects, such as building, roads, bridges, harbor/port, water resources development and factories, all scattered entire Indonesia has been constructed successfully with the support of EXAKTA’s know-how To days Indonesia is entering to the Globalization and Industrialization era and in response to this situation, EXAKTA had develop its services and supported by qualified experts for engineering and management consultant services. The lines of business were cover-up of the following activities i.e, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, FEASIBILITY STUDY, ARCHITEC, TECHNICAL PLANNING AND DESIGN, COST ESTIMATE, PROJECT SUPERVISOR, TECHNOLOGY ANALYSIS & RESEARCH, MANAGEMENT & MONITORING AND INFORMATION SYSTEM, covering the infrastructures activities (ports, harbors, highway, airports), buildings (architects and detail design engineering), land transportation, water resources (irrigation, drainage and water supplies facilities) and environment. BIE is registered with in the territory of Republic of Indonesia under the Directive of Ministry of Justice of Republic of Indonesia No. Y.A. 5/60/6, dated July 29, 1957, follows with No.83 Additional State News of Republic of Indonesia dated October 15, 1957, and been certified under the Indonesian National Consultant Association (INKINDO), with Business Licensees & Consultant Permits Practice (SIUJK) No. B00803171-4-DKI0044 and A0013171-1-100354, Indonesian Chambers of Commerce Registration no. 20203.25765-6/16-01-1997, and been in cooperation under the consortiums agreements with international and multinational company i.e. Inros Lackner AG Consulting Engineers & Architects, Bremen-Germany, The Louis Berger Inc Group-USA, Mott McDonald International-UK, SECID-USA, related to numerous of multilateral financing institutions i.e ADB, IDB, World Bank, KfW-Germany etc. In February 2003, in association with The LBIG-USA, was awarded a 5 years contact for the Independent Monitoring and Evaluation of Decentralization Basic Education Program under Ministry of National Education, and in 2005 the Islamic Development Bank approved the appointing of PT.BIE as the Construction Management Consultant for developing of Indonesian Education University (UPI – Bandung), constructions of buildings and facilities. Since early November 2006, PT. BIE was appointed to Prepared Detailed Engineering Design for 18 Villages Infrastructures facilities i.e. Roads, Drainage, Sanitation, Drinking Water, and Environtment Other public sector projects are Sumatra Railway Dev Study, Road and Bridges Const, Fishing Ports, 525 Km Trans Irian Highway Study and survey, Kemayoran Fly Over, Agriculture Irrigation Projects dev, Balikpapan city Landslide water dam and drainage system, Capacity Building Dev. Health care development and environmental study etc In private sector, pt. BIE were also been involved in supra and infrastructure development i.e Property Development
